Cow Lake Oval Ice Race, Rocky Mountain House

The ice racing continues at Cow Lake, by Rocky Mountain House. If you are a motorbike, sidecar and quad racing enthusiast or fan, don’t miss this next oval ice race at Cow Lake on Sunday, February 3, 2008. Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative than it was for the Dodd’s Lake Oval Ice Race.

Cow Lake is located South of Rocky Mountain House on Hwy 752, past Grandview Stage. Full details and a map can be found at the Second Gear Club. Grandview Stage is 81 kms west of Red Deer, 12km SW of Rocky Mountain House on Hwy. 752. This will be the award location, so be sure to stop by for fuel, convenience store or cafe.

Dodd’s Lake, Innisfail, Oval Ice Race Called Off (Jan27, 08)

After the first heat, race organizers were forced to call off the Dodd’s Lake Oval Ice Race on January 27, 2008. Due to cold temperatures and poor visibility from snow, The race was halted.

Dodd’s Lake, Innisfail, Oval Ice Race with Second Gear Club

There will be motorcycle, sidecar and quad oval ice races on Sunday, January 27 at Dodd’s Lake, Innisfail. A youth category and adult category will be racing, starting at 11:00 AM.

For those unfamiliar with Dodd’s Lake, it is located 20 minutes drive south of Red Deer on QE 2, then west into Innisfail. The lake is located on the Northwest corner of town.

Admission is $5 per person, or $10 per carload. If you like racing, come take a look. Pick up a drink at the concession, and stop by the pits to see the last minute racing preparations.
